Muga Reserva Selección Especial is a reserve red wine made with the Garnacha, Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano grape varieties by Bodegas Muga, located in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
The 2018 vintage, classified as "very good", was characterized by the great balance that the wines show between acidity and alcoholic strength, their great aromatic quality and their excellent phenolic maturity, which provides them with great depth and persistence.
This Muga Reserva Selección Especial 2018 shows a garnet / cherry red color, with a medium layer and good density. On the nose it is complex with hints of ripe red and black fruits, hints of black pepper and a subtle touch of creamy and smoked oak, followed by notes of coffee and menthol.
Entry on the palate smooth and elegant, developing with an optimal volume, resulting elegant and harmonious on the middle palate, with hints of ripe red fruits and spices. It is highlighted by a powerful tannic structure and fresh acidity.
This powerful and elegant Reserva red wine offers great aging potential.
Its production begins with a fermentation with indigenous yeast in oak tanks. Aged for 26 months in selected French oak barrels in our cooperage. Prior to bottling, a clarification is carried out with fresh egg white. Once in the bottle, it will undergo a refining process for at least 18 months in its cellar.
